System Requirements
Cakewalk Project 5 v2 requires OS X 10.7 or later (10.10 is recommended), but also runs on Windows 7 through 8. The.wav audio editing application also works with 32-bit and 64-bit drivers, but audio-CD mode requires OS X 10.7 or later. This application can also create and burn Audio CDs (as well as Audio-CDs), but will not burn Audio and Audio-CDs from Project 5 v2.
Interface
Cakewalk Project 5 v2's initial menu is divided into four categories: the Project, Effects, Audio, and Help menus. Upon launching the application, the Project menu is the first option in the top-left portion of the application window, while the effects menu is in the bottom-left corner of the window. This section also provides access to the User guide, as well as an option to exit the application. Under the Audio menu, users can audition the Project, arrange track volume and panning, select recording devices, configure the audio track volume, and change the project's default format.
The effect menu provides access to the installed effects as well as an option to open the user guide. The Audio menu allows users to change various audio settings, including track volume and panning, and the user guide. While this application is designed to work with.wav audio files, it can also support 32-bit and 64-bit WAVs, AIFFs, and MP3s.
Project 5 v2's Project mode is a quick and easy way to edit.wav audio files. Project 5 v2 allows users to alter waveforms with drag-and-drop editing; crop, scale, trim, and reorder tracks; and even use three dimensionally positioned notes to help with scoring and audio editing.
Efficiency
While not quite as fast as Cakewalk's earlier Project applications, Cakewalk's Project 5 v2 is still fast and easy to use. The intuitive interface is fairly simple, allowing even a newbie to navigate and use the app without difficulty.
